Music is my original passion.
I started off as a classically trained cellist, playing my first notes at 3 years old. For most of my life I took private lessons, primarily studying under Dr. Dmitri Atapine, the cello professor at the University of Nevada, Reno. I've playing in a variety of ensembles including the Reno Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra and Nevada All-State Orchestra, as well as had incredible opportunities to play in renowned music halls such as Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Later on though, I began to identify more as an acoustic guitarist. I discovered the guitar during my junior year of high school and taught myself how to play using YouTube videos; playing the guitar quickly became one of my favorite activities. All throughout my college years, I enjoyed continuing to learn and try new genres, like fingerstyle, classical, and jazz guitar.
Today, I continue to dabble in and explore playing all kinds of music genres and instruments, as well as learning the technical skills involved in music recording, mixing, and production. I also currently play live music shows in the Bay Area as part of the live band for Corz, a local rising artist.
Music has undoubtedly been a loyal companion to me during all the highs and lows in my journey through life. Through music, I have made so many wonderful memories and friends. No matter where I'm at or how I'm feeling, playing music, especially with other people, always sparks joy for me and brightens my day.
